How to use our Weather Pages

This is a new and expanded version of weather sources we used to "Cruise Around America from Canada to Canada". We have added links to weather in other cruising areas at the request of our globe trotting sailor friends.

WE DO NOT GUARANTEE THE ACCURACY OR RELIABILITY OF THE WEATHER INFORMATION
. But we have tried to use the most knowledgeable sources we know. They include NOAA, the U.S. Navy, and the World Meteorological Organization.

To use these links, select the type of information you are looking for (e.g. Satellite Pictures that are colored to better define the amount of moisture in the clouds). Then go to the area you are interested in (e.g. the Pacific Ocean). On forecast links, you need then to select the day you are interested in.

We will be adding notes on how we used these sources for our own cruising. In the meantime, we hope that the links will help in your own cruise planning. Just remember that if the weather isn't up to what you would like to have then stay in port and don't go out to sea. It is the cruiser that can't wait because he or she has a schedule or an important date to keep that usually gets into trouble.

Cross-check weather data between different data sources and realize that the Captain of the Vessel is solely responsible for the safety, health, and wellfare of the Crew.

Send us a note if you have any links you would like us to add or tell us how we could improve the site for cruisers.
